Kevin Emerick

Kevin Emerick, the most successful coach in NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) basketball from 2006 to 2010, currently leads the men’s team at Lincoln Trail College in Robinson, Illinois. Since taking over in June 2010, Kevin Emerick has effectively turned around the struggling program and led the Statesmen to a .500 record in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference. Prior to assuming this position, Kevin Emerick spent several years coaching women’s basketball at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Missouri, where he developed the program into a perennial national powerhouse at the junior college Division I level. In 2006, his first season at Jefferson College, Kevin Emerick took the Vikings to the Sweet Sixteen in the national tournament while coaching four academic all-Americans and the regional player of the year. Following an appearance in the Elite Eight the following season, Kevin Emerick helped Jefferson College achieve a #1 national ranking and a trip to the national championship game in two consecutive years. Kevin Emerick accumulated 129 wins at Jefferson College and earned designation as NJCAA Regional XVI and District K Coach of the Year each season. Emerick also coached and developed Texas A&M;'s Danielle Adams, who is currently a candidate for the NCAA Naismith Trophy, which honors the nation's top women's college basketball player. Danielle was a two-time all-American for Jefferson College from 2008-2010. Adams was the NJCAA Player of the year in the 2009-2010 season and led the nation in scoring her freshman year at Jefferson College. An alumnus of Mount Mercy College, Kevin Emerick started coaching at the institution during the early 1990s while studying criminal justice. He stayed at the school as a volunteer assistant for five years after earning his Bachelor’s degree, subsequently joining the coaching staff at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. After two seasons, Kevin Emerick relocated to Oklahoma to take over as the Head Basketball Coach, NCAA Compliance Officer, and Athletic Director at Oklahoma Panhandle State University. In these various capacities, Kevin Emerick more than tripled the basketball team’s win total from 5 to 17 in just his second season at Oklahoma Panhandle State University. Following two successful seasons, Kevin Emerick took over at Montana State University-Northern, which competes in the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) Division I. He led the team to the Sweet Sixteen i
