Kiran Manral worked with the Asian Age, the Times of India and Cosmopolitan before she quit to set up her own content supply firm during the first dotcom boom. Her blogs were both in India's top blogs and she was a Tehelka blogger columnist on gender issues. She was India Trend Spotter and Cultural Lead at CEB Iconoculture US, and is currently senior consultant at Vector Insights LLP.

Her debut novel, The Reluctant Detective, was published by Westland in 2011 and her second novel Once Upon A Crush, was published by Leadstart in May 2014. Her third book All Aboard, was published by Penguin Random House India in August 2015. Her fourth book, which is also her first non-fiction book, Karmic Kids, was published by Hay House in October 2015. Her fifth book, The Face At The Window, is due to be released by Amaryllis soon.

She initiated the online volunteer network India Helps, post the 26/11 terrorist attack on Mumbai and the team of volunteers worked on the rehabilitation of the affected and the bereaved of this and the 13/7 bomb blasts amongst others. She is also part of the core founding team of both www.csaawarenessmonth.com (Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Month) and www.vawaawarenessmonth.wordpress.com (Violence Against Women Awareness Month).

She is on the Planning Board of the Kumaon Literary Festival, an author mentor at Sheroes India and is an advisor on the Board of Literature Studio, Delhi. She was awarded the Women Achievers award by Young Environmentalists Group in 2013.

She lives in Mumbai with her family and counts every day off the Nutella wagon as a successful day.
