First off: the name. Nope, it's not taken from a video game, a baseball player or a vacuum. Mom loved the show Dynasty and the character Kirby Anders, changed the "y" to an "ie" for femininity's sake and deemed me her first born.
CliffsNotes on my journey: born and raised in Texas, graduated with a journalism degree (specifically advertising and PR), then went the "small town girl" route and hauled it to Cali. I'm now living the southern dream... in a town full of people who don't understand the term "thank you." At least it helps me to stand out!
I write a lot -- you can find me on Examiner.com recommending beauty products and salons, on my personal blog yapping about anything that tickles my fancy or revs my engine, and on Mentervention.com, where I give social commentary to men and the women who try to date them.
