My work in education spans over 20 years with experience in elementary, secondary and adult education. I have worked in a variety of roles with the York Region District School Board, from Elementary Classroom Teacher, Teacher Librarian, Consultant for School Libraries, Program Coordinator of the ABEL/LC programs at York University and currently Head Teacher Librarian/Special Education Teacher at Keswick High School. Additionally, I am a course creator and Teacher Leader for Teacher Additional Qualification courses in Librarianship and ICCT at York University.

I am a University of Toronto graduate, completing a degree in Physical & Health Education a long time ago! Worked for 10 years in the private sector then returned to school to earn a B. Ed. at York University.

As an educator, I began exploring how I might use ICT to enrich and engage the learning experiences for my students and to enhance my own teaching and learning immediately.

In 2008 I graduated from the Master in Educational Technology program at UBC. This learning experience focused my interests on educational learning theory and it's evolution with the advent of the semantic and social web.

I am interested in understanding how educators connect in the virtual world to direct and control their own personal and professional learning. I have a great interest in open education and what that might mean for learners the world over. My work with educators, system leaders and high school students continues to expose me to new and exciting ideas.
