Mobility

I have worked with a truly diverse range of learners and companies across four different states as a freelance business and technical English trainer in the geographic center of Germany.

Curiosity

I have always been fascinated by the role language plays in our ever more interconnected world. After having studied Linguistics at the University of Chicago, I taught Business and General English in Japan and then moved to Germany to teach Business and Technical English. I also simultaneously acquired a Master`s in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) through the New School University. Even though I never imagined living in Germany, I now could not envision living and working elsewhere.

Community

Much of what I love about teaching English is belonging to a global community of passionate educators. I am involved in IATEFL (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language), particularly BESIG, the Business English special interest group and I am co-chair of TELTA, our local teacher's association. My current professional interests are curriculum development, learning technologies, m-learning, and business English in practice.
