Kristian Schwartz

Atlanta, GA & San Francisco, CA

It all started with my first job out of college at Wired magazine in San Francisco. I was able to witness the dawn of the dot-com era at one of the companies that created the digital transformation of our world. On my desk rests Wired 5.10 - the issue that was released the month I joined in October 1995. I’m still inspired by it.

Following Wired, I went on to senior-level roles with major advertising agencies in San Francisco - Razorfish, Wunderman, SapientNitro, DDB and Saatchi & Saatchi. I was fortunate to work with clients such as Visa, Verizon, Clorox, Unilever and Hewlett-Packard. The work was challenging - yet rewarding as I was able to lead change for my clients and establish lifelong relationships. Nothing is more satisfying than looking back and knowing we were able to generate positive business results - and change the way my clients and their organizations benefited from our efforts.

Moving to executive recruitment was a natural transition. I have always been a ‘people connector.’ Inside knowledge of the advertising and marketing world --often serving as a hiring manager-- has provided a deep experience-based foundation. This culminated in becoming a Senior Partner at the Lucas Group in Atlanta.

Founding the The Montgomery Group is the newest chapter of my career and life experience. My vision is simple: a boutique search firm, staffed by senior industry veterans dedicated to creating positive experiences and career-changing impacts for their clients and candidates- from superior placements to career advice to an introduction within the industry.

I graduated from the University of Oregon, with a BS in Microeconomics and an informal degree in outdoor pursuits. I am an active blogger for Huffington Post. Outside of work, you can spot me cycling, cooking, fly-fishing and spending time with my wife and twin, red-haired daughters.
