Kuramo Capital is a New York-based investment manager with a global perspective and special insight into the emerging markets of sub-Saharan Africa. Kuramo Capital serves institutional investors for whom capital preservation is paramount. Walé Adeosun, the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Kuramo Capital, is a CFA who holds dual Nigerian and American citizenship. From 1999 to 2004, prior to creating Kuramo Capital, Mr. Adeosun served as a Managing Director in the MacArthur Foundation's Investments Group. Previously, he managed Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's $850 million portfolio as Treasurer and Chief Investment Officer for the university. In that post he pursued alternative investments in frontier markets. Currently, Mr. Adeosun chairs the Investment Advisory Committee of the New York State Common Retirement Fund, a fund with $140 billion in assets.

Mr. Adeosun is aided at Kuramo Capital by Partner and Managing Director Shaka Kariuki, who previously managed portfolios for the Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators, an institution with $6 billion under management. Mr. Kariuki earlier worked in Global Finance for Agilent Technologies and in the Investment Banking Division of First Security Van Kasper.

Kamal Pallan, Partner and Chief Operating Officer, is the third member of the leadership team. Mr. Pallan, a Kenyan citizen, was a Managing Director for JP Morgan's Global Custody business prior to joining Kuramo Capital. He has also worked for the management consultant firm McKinsey & Company as well as GE Capital.

Kuramo Capital's team has a depth of experience in the endowment investment approach that combines fine-grained evaluation of managers, careful and diverse portfolio construction, and rigorous risk management.
