KURT KRATCHMAN

Interactive Product Developer, Corporate Entrepreneur

Grew up St.Louis (Clayton), Missouri. Studied religion and philosophy at Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Tulane University. After graduating moved to upstate New York to work/live at the Omega Institute. In between seasons went to India and explored most of the country by bicycle, motorcycle, rickshaw, bus, and train. Then moved to Kyoto, Japan, tuned into Kaiseke, mountain temples, Nintendo and architecture. Moved to NYC and worked in project management, product development and biz dev at an engineering firm focused on urban planning, traffic, and environmental impact studies. Read Wired magazine, tuned into the emerging digital communications and data visualization. Went back to school to study more about the production process at the Vancouver Film School for Multimedia Studies. Hooked up with my VFS classmates and started Blast Radius. Helped develop it into a strategy, technology and design powerhouse. Left after 8 years to pursue more ambitious passions in Dubai, Kuwait and Beirut. My lovely wife didn't want to move there with our kids, so back to Los Angeles. Joined forces with the digital innovation firm Schematic and helped scale the company for a sale. Sold both Blast Radius and Schematic to WPP. In 2008 started a transmedia technology company - 3 companies bundled together - focused on aviation entertainment. We developed the industry leading community portal www.airshowbuzz.com, branded a P-51 three ship formation flying team called The Horsemen, helped produce two TV shows (animation and non-scripted), and developed a SaaS software framework called BLACKBOX.
