Kyron Jeffers
Creative Design Entrepreneur in Trinidad and Tobago
Kyron Jeffers is a creative design & media professional with over 7 years of experience in the field, focusing specially on social and STREAM (Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Art and Math) outreach programmes.
Kyron holds a Master of Arts degree in Creative Design Entrepreneurship from the University of the West Indies and a Bachelor of Arts in Media from the University of Greenwich, in the United Kingdom.
In 2016 the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival selected Kyron as 1 of 10 Caribbean filmmakers to take part in the RBC Focus Filmmaker’s Immersion, an intensive development programme for emerging filmmakers.
The Carifesta XIII Film Festival in Barbados selected Kyron’s first documentary, “The Blind Way Forward” for screening in 2017. Subsequently, Trinidad and Tobago Television (TTT) aired the Blind Way Forward nationally for a licenced period. Finally, the project won “best documentary” at the Rollywood International Film Festival in 2020.
In 2018 Queen’s Royal College recognized Kyron for a “Significant Contribution to the Life of the College” award based on his volunteer work in the Q.R.C. Film & Photography Club.
Kyron’s students from the Q.R.C. “Learn to Fly Film Clubs” summer course won best film, best editing & best acting at the Hillview College Film Club. State television station (TTT) awarded the group the opportunity to reproduce their film to where it can be broadcasted.
Kyron continues to engage in creating outreach productions for youth such as the short film “Skyglow” which is sponsored by the Trinidad and Tobago Film Company (FilmTT). Skyglow aims to use the genre of science fiction and romance to tackle social issues such as bullying, low self-esteem and exploring new creative careers.
Some of Kyron’s other credits include producing and co-directing the Hip Hop music video “Paper Chase” and directing the gospel music video “Thinking of You.”
Kyron currently resides Trinidad and Tobago.
