Lance Speck

Sales and software expert Lance Speck laid the foundation for his career at The University of Texas at Austin. While studying for his degree, Speck worked for over a year as an Inside Sales Representative with Lotus Development Corporation (now IBM). Performing various duties for the software company, Lance Speck managed information and training for sales projects and coordinated telemarketing sales leads. He graduated with a degree in government.

Entering the workforce with Pervasive Software Inc., a global leader in data management systems, Lance Speck worked his way up to the title of Account Executive. Surpassing his quota year after year, he played an integral role in the company and held responsibility for securing numerous accounts that remain top revenue producers for Pervasive. After years of success, Lance Speck accepted a Senior Account Executive position with Austin, Texas-based United Devices, Inc. (later Univa), during its developing years.

Utilizing his experience in the sales field, Lance Speck assembled a sales team made up of former colleagues. In addition to establishing the company’s first product positioning and sales tactics, Lance Speck collaborated with the Executive Management team to acquire venture capital during the first two rounds of funding. After nine months with United Devices, Speck rejoined Pervasive Software as Director of Sales and Marketing. With success in those roles, he is now the Vice President and General Manager of the Integration Division, and he continues to thrive in these positions today. Sales teams under Lance Speck generate revenue of $20 million, close to half of Pervasive’s annual revenue.

Outside of the office, Lance Speck enjoys a variety of activities. A fan of the outdoors, he spends his free time fishing, golfing, running, and hunting a variety of animals. A father of two sons, he is also involved with the Parent Teacher Association for Charlotte A. Cox Elementary as well as a member of the St. Thomas More Parish.
