Lance Stelzer

A civil and criminal attorney with nearly 40 years of experience in his field, Lance Stelzer serves as President of the Law Offices of Lance R. Stelzer, P.A. in Miami, Florida. Possessing a long and impressive professional history, Lance Stelzer laid the educative foundations for his career as an undergraduate at Syracuse University, where he pursued studies in journalism.

A consistent presence on the dean’s list, Lance Stelzer graduated from Syracuse University in 1970 with his Bachelor of Science in Journalism and soon gained admission to the University of Florida’s Fredric G. Levin College of Law. For the next three years, he learned all facets of the legal system and earned a number of awards in the process, including the Book Award for Legal History and Best Oral Argument in the Campbell Thornal Moot Court Competition. Graduating sixth in his law school class with honors in 1973, Lance Stelzer immediately began his ascent to the upper echelons of the legal profession with a stint as Instructor of Law at his alma mater.

After passing the Florida Bar Examination, Lance Stelzer accepted a role as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Florida, where from 1973 to 1975 he handled matters related to criminal appeals and consumer protection. He passed the California Bar Exam in 1974 and has served as a member of the State Bar of California continuously since. He also previously operated as Counsel for the State of Florida Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators.

Owing to his solid performance, Lance Stelzer received an offer to serve as Assistant State Attorney for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court of Florida, a role he held for five years. Since then, Lance Stelzer has maintained a diversified private legal practice through the Law Offices of Lance R. Stelzer, P.A., specializing in all manners of civil and criminal law. He also has operated in a teaching capacity at the University of Miami and Barry University, providing instruction on criminal law and legal writing to J.D. candidates. Lance Stelzer previously served as Acting Chairman of the Miami-Dade County Nuisance Abatement Board and currently holds the position of Vice-Chairman.
