I started my educational career at Miami University, getting my BS degree in Exercise Science. While there, I was a member and treasurer of the Miami University Rugby Football Club. These interests led to me to study abroad to Central Queensland University where I was a member of the 2007 Premiere Championship Rugby Team.

From there, I continued my educational pursuits at the University of Texas at Austin in the Movement Science department. My studies emphasized biomechanics, physiology, aging, motor performance, and human movement with a focus in motor performance and control. Under the guidance of my advisors Dr. Lawrence D Abraham and Dr. Waneen W Spriduso, with additional guidance from Dr. Tim Eakin, my research culminated into my thesis Analysis of Force Production and Muscle Activation in a Manual Tracking Task. While at UT, I was a Graduate Assistant for the UTeach Outreach program, which required that I facilitate and monitor after school STEM clubs at area AISD middle schools. These clubs then competed in end of semester science Olympics, to which I would additionally help coordinate. Along with other volunteer opportunities, I also spent my time as a member and President of the internationally ranked UT Grad Rugby Team.

With my time at UT, my research interests have led me to currently seek my PhD at the University of Colorado Boulder in the Neurophysiology of Movement Laboratory, directed by Dr. Roger Enoka. While here, I have gained teaching experience in human anatomy, neurophysiology, and graduate statistics. Additionally, I was awarded the NIH T32 training grant to focus my research on aging manual dexterity and electrical nerve stimulation. One of my main responsibilities was to directly work with lab collaborators in Italy to implement their prototype high-density wearable EMG system (WEMG). Particular areas of research include interpolated twitch technique, neuromuscular electrical nerve stimulation, high-density EMG, gait analysis, and various other neurophysiology research techniques. Furthermore, I spend my time volunteering with the Boulder Area Agency on Aging and the CU Summer Science Discovery program.
