Lara Killian


Lara is a health librarian with a focus on patient education. Previously she managed research & communications at the Nova Scotia Cochrane Resource Centre (NSCRC) in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She has an extensive background in project management, research synthesis, engaging with online communities, & writing. She has coordinated research for & co-authored two Cochrane Collaboration systematic reviews/protocols.


Lara is Communications Director for Nocturne: Art at Night & supported TEDxHalifax (2010 & 2011 events) as a communications specialist. Lara also served on the Executive Committee of the Halifax Library Association (HLA) from 2011-2013. She has been writing and editing for since 2006, & was Editorial Co-Chair of the Dalhousie Journal of Interdisciplinary Management (DJIM) during her MLIS graduate studies at Dalhousie University from 2008-2010.


When she's not researching or volunteering, you can find her knitting or on Ravelry, the social network for fiber enthusiasts. Lara also co-hosts, a regular video podcast from about trends in technology, gadgets, & social media. She is a founder & former co-host of the Dating Digital Podcast.
