Smt. Laxmi Meher is an award-winning Indian Painter. She is famous for her Odisha Pattachitra Paintings. She has been completed 30 years of her career as a painter.

Smt. Meher was born in Tarava, Odisha in Dt. 6-07-1967 and currently lives in Bolangir town of Odisha. Her husband Padmashri Kailash Chandra Meher, elder son Prakash Meher, daughter Manisha Meher & younger son Jayanta Meher are artist of National reputation. All of her family members got many State & National Awards in the field of Art & Crafts.

She got early married and initiated into this craft when she was just age of eighteen. She gained major experience in the field of Tussar Painting from her husband who is also an UNESCO & ShilpGuru awardee artist and having knowledge in every field of art & crafts. Now for the last three decades she is engaged in this craft with heart and soul. Besides duty of a housewife she has been given training to many institutions like "Indian Art & Craft Academy for Women" and "Handicrafts Handloom Museum & Service Centre for Women" where many poor artisans trained. Now she is fomous Pattachitra painter in Odisha as well as in India.

Smt. Meher endeavor to help and make self-supported suffering and needy women mass of KBK districts of Odisha. She was also successfully completed Govt. of India trainning scheme likes "Guru Shishya Parampara under HRD scheme" and "Scheme-C" etc.

She has participated in number of art exhibitions in all over India from time to time and her paintings are highly valued by the visitors in exhibition. Many of them been purchased by Museum, Ministry of Textiles, Ministry of Industries, HRD, Parliament House and privet collection of so many VVIP in India & Abroad.

Her determination has earned her the Master Craftsman National Award from HE the President of India in 2005 and State Award from Chief Minister of Odisha in 1990.
