Leonardo David Donado-Garzón

Leonardo David Donado-Grazón was born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1977. He is currently working as Full Professor at the Water Resources Engineering Group of the School of Engineering in the Universidad Nacional de Colombia at Bogota, where he is in charge of the Water Resources Engineering courses. His main line of research is Hydrogeology and Groundwater. He wasadditionally the current Director of Undergraduate and Graduate Programs in Civil and Agricultural Engineering and Coordinator of PhD Program in Civil Engineering. He graduated as a Civil Engineer (Minor in Water and Environment) (2000) and M.Sc. in Water Resources Engineering (2004) from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia at Bogota. As a final project he did a study of the use of groundwater in the recharge zone of the Morroa Aquifer in Colombia. This project was funded by Colombian Geological Survey (SGC). His M.Sc. Thesis was about an estimate model of the hydraulic conductivity of soils based on the pore size distribution. This research was funded by a Scholarship of the former Colombian Institute of Science and Technology (COLCIENCIAS) in its program of Young Researchers. It was also funded by the Research Division of the National University of Colombia at Bogota (DIB). He also was Lecturer at the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) at Bucaramanga. He finished his Ph. D. in the Civil Engineering Programme in the Technical University of Catalonia (Barcelona Tech) at Barcelona (Spain) with European Mention [EuroDoctor]. He was doing his research into the Hydrogeology Group with a grant of the Programme ALβAN of the European Union on the reactive transport modeling in complex media, and participate in a internship at the Politècnico di Milano (Italy) and Summer Schools in the Netherlands and USA.
