I started my career in education as a third grade teacher at a rural Title I school in Gaston County. During my three years of teaching, I realized that I loved using technology to enhance my lessons, and loved seeing how excited technology made my students. This inspired me to complete my Masters degree in Instructional Technology and to become an Instructional Technology Facilitator in the same school district. After spending 4 years in that position, I accepted a position as an instructor in the Computer Information Technology Department at Cleveland Community College while also doing contract instructional design work. For the last five years, I have worked at Western Governors University, first as an Instructional Designer, Development Team Lead, and currently as a Program Development Owner. I am working on my dissertation to finish a doctoral program in Curriculum and Instruction. In my spare time, I enjoy running, wasting time watching reality tv, spending time with my dog, spending time on the beach, and coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.
