Lenny Chick

Lenny Chick, UK born Drummer, percussionist, guitarist, singer songwriter and performer. Currently residing in Nelson NZ and studying contemporary music at Nelson Marlborough institute of technology. Lenny has been playing music for many years in many different forms.

His music is heavily influenced through African drums and percussion with a blend of jazzy reggae and alternative folk. His main musical inspirations come from artist’s such as Ernest ranglin, Monty Alexander, G love and special sauce and Iron and wine, to mention juat a few. More recently Lenny has been dedicating his time to furthering his musical studies and drum tutoring.

Currently playing with Irie Vibes (Roots/Reggae), Vogue Gyratory (Funk/Folk/Reggae) and Jo Barlow (Folk/Blues). Recently played with Embalada (samba reggae band) and World population (traditional South African sounds).

He has performed in countless number of live venues throughout both NZ and the UK, such as Komedia (Brighton UK), Mussel Inn (NZ), Pirate Inn (Falmouth UK), Tauranga Jazz Festival (NZ) and Luminate Festival (Nelson NZ) plus many other more intimate venues and festivals
