LEONARDO D'AQUINO

Leonardo D’Aquino is a brazilian performer based in Berlin.

Currently is working on the new creation of the cie. toula limnaios, Minute Papillon, which will premiere on the 27th of November in Berlin.[2015]

Studied contemporary dance at SEAD - Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance [2013/2015], and graduated in Performing Arts with a BA in Theater Acting at University of São Paulo - USP/ São Paulo - Brazil [2011].

In Europe, created two solo projects, CLOVEN [Berlin|2014] and P.O.P.U.P. [Berlin-Amsterdam | 2013], both projects premiered on the platform 10 times 6from Ada Studio in Berlin. As a perfomer worked on the shows Die Lodge[2015] from the company OhneTitel, which premiered on the SOMMERSZENE FESTIVAL 15 in Salzburg, Austria; Irreversible[2015]choreographed by Jelka Milic which premiered at the Symphonic Dance Festival, and was performed in ARGEkultur at Because of the Night,a cooperation between SEAD and ARGEKultur – Salzburg, Austria; Where am I going?[2015], created by the choreographer Christos Xyrafakis, which premiered on the festival New Faces New Dancesfrom Szene Salzburg, Austria. And worked also with choreographer such as Ryan Mason, Paul Blackman and Christine Gouzelis, Mzamo Nondlwana and Milan Tomasik [2013|2015].

In Brazil, was part of the company [ph2]: estado de teatro in which worked as a performer on the shows Keep Out of Reach of Children[2009/2012] and Átridas[2010/2012]. The show Keep Out of Reach of Childrentoured nationally in Brazil and was part of the International Festival of Londrina – FILO, and the Latin American Theater Festival – FILTE in Salvador. In 2011, the company was awarded with the VIII Edition of the Theatre Development Program from the City of São Paulo with the project Tragedy: Contemporary Perspectives.

Worked as a professional dancer in the company Minik Momdó, directed by Maria Mommensohn [2008|2012], on the performances Naked Dress[2008] and Hollow[2009|2010]. Also worked on the performance EYE – Contemporary Dance and Video Performance [2010|2011] directed by Márcio Marques with coordination of Maria Mommensohn.
