Liesl Scalzitti

An accomplished mental health professional with over 16 years of experience, Liesl Scalzitti, Ph.D., MSW, LCSW, currently serves as a Psychiatric Social Worker with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) School Mental Health Services (SMH). Hired to work under her license as a clinical social worker, she provides individual and group therapy sessions for elementary and middle school students. Working with special education students, Dr. Liesl Scalzitti aids her clients in overcoming or managing a wide range of learning disorders and behavioral problems. She also holds extensive experience in helping children and adolescents deal with psychological trauma primarily associated with emotional, physical, and/or sexual abuse. While completing her undergraduate work, she lived and studied for a semester in Rennes, France. Pursuing her career in the mental health field, she earned her Master of Social Work with a specialization in family therapy at Washington University George Warren Brown School of Social Work in 1994. Dr. Liesl Scalzitti subsequently completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology at the Pacifica Graduate Institute. As a licensed psychologist in California, Dr. Liesl Scalzitti follows theoretical orientations including the Object Relations theory, Rogerian, Jungian, and Psychoanalytic. She has garnered unique professional and academic experience focusing on the implications of the mother/daughter relationship.
