New York, New York

I am currently the head of the video department at the New York Daily News. I recently won the Newswomen's Front Page award for digital video for my video on the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington. I have been working in journalism since 2004 with a focus primarily in emerging multimedia departments in newspapers. I began my career during the major shift from print to online, and I was one of the first video producers at the San Antonio Express News, Houston Chronicle, and the New York Daily News. I helped start the video department at the Daily News in January of 2008 and took over the department in 2010.

For the department, I do everything including shooting, editing, syndicating, publishing, transcoding, reporting, interviewing, and assigning. I am the primary video person and oversee interns and photographers shooting video for the website.

I've covered every type of story including professional sports, breaking news, fashion, celebrity, entertainment, politics, food, and aviation. I cover all professional teams in the New York area and have covered Super Bowls, golf and tennis U.S. Opens, Prince Harry playing polo, and many Yankee championships. I have also covered many Fashion Weeks, countless red carpets, two Miss Universes, two presidential elections, three plane/helicopter crashes in the rivers around Manhattan, Superstorm Sandy, blizzards, and Occupy Wall Street.

I love working in journalism in New York City. You never know what the day will bring, and I've been extremely fortunate to have worked with such amazing journalists and reporters as my wonderful colleagues. I hope to continue covering this great city for a long time to come.
