These days, everybody knows that, to get top rankings in any of the engines, your site requires links. Not only any links, but links from quality sites and a great deal of them. A very important factor I have observed is that for all webmasters that are newer to SEO, they often over look the importance of "anchor text" or "link text" since it is often called.

Within the above case, the text "This is Anchor Text" may be the anchor text. Point text is simply the text used as the portion of a link. A while back (a few years now), the applications decided that, frequently, the text used as the anchor text of a link was a description of the target page. Therefore, knowing this, they decided to begin looking at the text of links to a page an incorporating what these links "said" about the page in to the algorithms used to rank pages.
