I'm a wife and mother, a writer and publicist, using storytelling to build mission-based brands, with clients like Interface, Life Technologies, Shepherd Center, Living Homes and Visiting Nurse | Hospice Atlanta. When my second child -- my son -- was diagnosed with Down syndrome, my own experiences as a child paralyzed by a spinal tumor came rushing back. I wondered, would our ridiculously normal life -- a life where my disability was incidental -- change? Would Cooper's disability become the center of our world? He's 10 now. We've worked our way back to normal, and that story is the one I am now eager to tell.
