Gene Conroy-Jones

I like puzzles therefore I like coding.

Dear Reader

I am a Java GWT developer based in Seattle, Washington.  Go Huskies!  I enjoy writing about professional Java-GWT-GRails development and have a popular blog at www.gwtsushi.info.  For over ten years I have been developing software-as-a-service web applications for a variety of interesting clients. I enjoy writing, designing, collaborating and always learning.  I am also educated to PhD level in a technical subject.

On the User Interface side of things I have extensive experience with the Java - GWT framework.  As well as the usual array of standard web development technologies JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, Prototype, Scriptalicious.  Currently jQuery is my Javascript framework of choice.

On the server side I enjoy working in a Test Driven Development and am a strong advocate of modularized, easily testable Java code. I aim to write software that is easy to test and utilizes many common design patterns and frameworks. Spring, Hibernate and MySQL form a large part of my professional portfolio; together with modern web frameworks such as Spring MVC, GWT and Grails.

So what am I looking for?  Something interesting and lucrative.  I enjoy the startup environment and established agile working environments.  So are you based in Seattle or are you open to an outstanding team player in a telecommute position?  Either way get in contact via the usual array of links below.

Thanks
Gene
