Christopher Lotito is an accomplished environmental photographer with a passion for documenting the impact of humanity on the natural world during the Anthropocene. With extensive experience in capturing the essence of nature in its rawest form, Lotito has completed photographic work in the wilds of Iceland, the Costa Rican rainforests, and the New Jersey highlands region.

His latest project, the Lotito Earth Observatory, is a mission to photograph the damage and risk faced by the world's ecosystems, with a specific focus on development, habitat destruction, and deforestation. Lotito is determined to contextualize the Anthropocene for everyday people and to bring the message of conservation to the forefront of public consciousness.

In his latest efforts, Lotito is not just photographing exotic locations, but familiar suburban environments in New Jersey and the American northeast. He is driven to show the world how even the seemingly innocuous suburban areas are being shaped and altered by human activity, making the issue of environmental degradation relatable and tangible to all.

Lotito's work has been featured in various publications, including the University of Rochester's “Futurity,” “Upworthy,” “The Record,” and “Suburban Trends.” He has exhibited in student shows at Drew University, group exhibitions in Riverdale, New Jersey, and individually in Pequannock. He is also a contributor to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum Artists Registry.

Lotito began his career working in black and white photography, focusing on the interplay of light, shadow, and transient weather patterns to create visually stunning pieces that draw the viewer's eye to the beauty and complexity of nature. Increasingly over the past decades, he explored work in color photography, macro photos of nature, and arresting panoramas. Through his work, he inspires others to explore the world with fresh eyes and to appreciate the unique details that make up the natural world around us.
