Hi. I’m Luke Allen Hackney.

I co-own a small screenprinting company with a tragically out-dated website called RetroDuck.

My new production company Arts & Cults, has wrapped The Dinner Parting, which I co-wrote with director J.A. Andrew. The trailer can be found here. We had our world premiere at the Cinequest Film Festival and won the audience award for best narrative feature at the Soo Film Festival. FilmThreat gave us a glowing review and we are looking forward to seeing what happens next as we tour the film festival circuit.

Recently, I've been sending out a weekly newsletter about things I am working on, recommendations and curated links to interesting reads and videos on film, music, literature, art, productivity and trying to be a better person.

My thoughts and notes can be found at Hackneyed. You can also follow me on Instagram and/or Twitter.

In 2019, The State Journal profiled me after I received an award from the city. I am the current vice-chair of the Downtown Development Authority in East Lansing and chair of the Lansing Chamber of Commerce East Lansing and Meridian Township Business Roundtable,, and also chair the city's Parking Task Force. I am the former chair of the Local District Finance Authority, East Lansing's Downtown Management Board, and served on their Arts Commission, as well as boards at (SCENE) MetroSpace and Impression 5 Science Center.

I'm also Catholic, a dog dad, music maven, film buff, whiskey drinker, constant reader, true believer, black belt (no, really), ex-skater, ex-deejay, étudiant français, chess patzer, pinballer, basketball, tennis and Jeopardy! fanatic, aspiring football hooligan, dilettante and punk at heart.

If you ever find yourself in East Lansing, MI, be sure to stop by Conrad’s Grill and try the “Cordon Luke.”
