Emily Wu Truong is an award-winning speaker for mental health awareness from the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles, CA. She is also known as the "Lady in Green" for her stylish green fashion statement as the lime green ribbon stands for mental health awareness. Her #LadyinGreen also represents her passion to build up a generation of youth who are equipped with the skills to articulate, advocate and empower themselves to develop their own emotional resilience.

She graduated from University of California, Irvine with her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology & Social Behavior and Minor in Education. Since 2010, Emily has become a champion advocate affiliated with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the National Asian American Pacific Islander Empowerment Network (NAAPIEN affiliated with NAAPIMHA) and Partnership for Awareness. She has been an invited speaker at USC, UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, UC Davis, Raytheon, & many more places to encourage a more positive dialogue about community mental health.

With the ability to articulate her personal experiences of growing up with depression, she has not allowed shame nor stigma to stop her from advocating for her younger self and others suffering in silence.

As a result of her advocacy, she was honored with the 2015 Woman of Achievement Award by former Senator Ed Hernandez. Also in 2015, she received the Youth and Young Adult Leadership Award at the 29th Annual National Alternatives Conference in Memphis, Tennessee.
