I'm a research ecologist with a focus on plants, rivers, and invasive species. I explore processes such as dispersal, establishment, competition, resource acquisition, ecohydrology, and other biotic and abiotic interactions. Recently I have focused on riparian ecology with an interest in how river hydrology and geomorphology influence adjacent plant communities. I also study exotic species invasions and the key factors that make species successful invaders.

Currently, I am working on projects dealing with the effects of climate change, river regulation, and invasive species on riparian plant communities in the Western U.S.
