POR in Vancouver, BC, Canada
I'm interested in Patient Oriented Research, Men's Health and Diet & Cancer.
I'm currently working for the BC SUPPORT Unit where I am Research Services Lead and do Patient Engagement consultations for the Vancouver Regional office.
Previously worked for the British Columbia Centre for Palliative Care doing research for the iGAP Study: "Improving advance care planning in general practice". FoM, University of British Columbia. And did a 1-year fellowship with the Canadian Frailty Network in ACP.
I did two Post-doctoral research fellowships: at the University of British Columbia Oct 2013 to Jan 2015. Funded by the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (Institute for Gender and Health: "Gender, Work and Health Research").
I also spent a fabulous year in the UK (Oct 2012-Sept 2013) funded by the Leverhulme Trust visiting fellow program, doing a post-doc at the Centre for Men's Health at Leeds Beckett University with Prof Steve Robertson. This research explored how UK men and women negotiated diet changes after a prostate cancer diagnosis. An article about this research is in the journal Appetite.
