AI Veteran, Road Cyclist, & Dad of Three Teens

For over two decades, I've been working at the intersection of human behavior and computational intelligence — building systems that reason, understand context, and solve real problems.

My background combines bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Psychology with a PhD in Artificial Intelligence (2004), giving me a unique foundation in both the "why" of human interactions and the "how" of intelligent systems. Long before agentic AI became a hot topic, my PhD focused on symbolic multi-agent systems — logic, planning, trust models, ontologies, and communication between agents. Today, I bring that deep structural perspective to the world of LLMs, probabilistic reasoning, and tool-using autonomous agents.

Currently, I'm a Principal Data Scientist / AI Engineer at Uniphore, a leading Silicon Valley company in enterprise Business AI. There, I help turn generative and agentic AI from prototypes into reliable, high-scale production solutions — things like:

  • Advanced hybrid RAG architectures that deliver precise, accurate answers in complex enterprise settings.
  • Dialogue analysis models that capture the structure and nuances of real human conversations.
  • Goal-oriented autonomous services built with frameworks like LangChain, Haystack, and CrewAI.

Before industry, I researched and collaborated at institutions including the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (CSIC, Spain), Carlos III University of Madrid, University of Aberdeen, and the Polytechnic University of Valencia — exploring topics from multi-agent systems and case-based reasoning to neural networks and information retrieval.

Outside of work, family comes first. I'm happily married and dad to three teenagers — they're growing fast, full of energy, and keep life interesting and rewarding.

My biggest passion away from screens is road cycling. I'm the president of the UPV Cycling Club, and every Saturday I lead our group rides — planning routes, keeping the pace steady, and enjoying the teamwork and scenery that come with a solid peloton ride. Whether it's tackling a long climb or optimizing an AI pipeline, I value endurance, precision, and working well together.

Always open to connecting about AI advancements, production-grade agentic systems, great cycling routes in Valencia (or beyond), or just chatting tech and life. Say hi!
