Maher Ishak

The owner of the Woodbury Pharmacy in Highland Mills, New York, Maher Ishak has over 30 years experience in pharmacy. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from Cairo University in 1977, Maher Ishak operated two pharmacies in Egypt as a licensed pharmacist with the Egyptian Board of Pharmacy. In 1986, Maher Ishak moved to the United States, finding a position with Rite Aid Pharmacy in Croton-on-Hudson, New York. Familiarizing himself with American pharmacy practices, Maher Ishak served as Store Manager and Supervising Pharmacist, in which capacity he was responsible for filling prescriptions, managing inventory, and counseling patients. Maher Ishak is proud of the fact that during his four years with Rite-Aid, he brought the store to a level of customer care excellence rarely seen in a chain. From 1990 to 1992, Maher Ishak worked as a Staff Pharmacist at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Spring Valley, New York. Maher Ishak`s expanded duties at the Good Samaritan Hospital included monitoring patients’ drug interactions and ensuring that doctors’ prescriptions complied with hospital and FDA regulations. Maher Ishak next accepted a position as Staff Pharmacist at Grand Union Pharmacy in Monroe, New York, and in 1995, he opened his own Woodbury Pharmacy in Highland Mills. As owner and proprietor of the Woodbury Pharmacy, Maher Ishak has successfully transitioned the business into one that offers a complete line of medications, medical supplies, and durable medical equipment. Maher Ishak notes that Woodbury Pharmacy, unlike many pharmacies, offers 24-hour emergency services. Indeed, Woodbury Pharmacy has been nominated by a local paper as one of the best in Orange County, New York, for two years running. A dedicated family man, Maher Ishak enjoys swimming, traveling, and fishing when he has free time.
