Maia moved to the bay in 2009 and is thrilled to have found her passion in aerial acrobatics & yoga. During that first year in the bay, she finished her Medical Assistant certification, married the love of her life and witnessed her first aerial performance at the Supper Club in SF on Valentine’s Day. She was struck!

A background in athletics & gymnastics; aerial acrobatics came very naturally to Maia and it soon moved to the forefront in her life. In 2011 She had her first performance at the Supper Club, ironically, also on Valentine's Day.

In Oakland, Maia has had the honor of training with Naomi Hummel, Cindy iijima, Laura Stokes, Tara Quinn & Sam Luckey of the Athletic Playground as well as TT Robson & Danielle Butler of Kinetic Arts.

She has performed at public and private events, in collaboration with musicians and other aerialists and along side The Exotic Tissu Ballet, directed by Madamn Burnz.

Maia is currently pursuing her yoga teacher certification through Flying Yoga Shala in Oakland and will apprentice at Aspen Aerials (SF) starting early February 2013. She continues to train Tissu (Silk), Rope, hand balance and contortion.
