I have always loved television and computers. I was a philosophy major at Northwestern, medical school and Health Policy and Management at Johns Hopkins. I was the lead anesthesiologist for the Study of Medical Testing for Cataract Surgery. I learned that knowledge is not found in things that make sense theoretically, but in analysis of large data sets. I loved TiVo, but I hated monthly fees. I upgraded several computers and installed software to act as media center PCs. I saw that a network of home theater PCs, like I had already built, would make an excellent platform for addressable ads, solving the hardware, market, and privacy challenges.
