Interpreter and Teacher in Washington, DC
For over twenty-five years, Marc has been working as a sign language interpreter in a myriad of settings. Having earned a Certificate of Transliteration and the Certificate of Interpretation, the National Interpreter Certificate, and the Specialist Certificate: Legal from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf he has become a serial specialist interpreter. Over the course of his career, he has focused on Educational, Legal, Mental Health, Medical, Scientific and DeafBlind Interpreting.
After working as an adjunct instructor in American Sign Language for 15 years at the University of Pittsburgh and earning his ASLTA Qualified Certification, Marc shifted his teaching work into interpretation and pursued a Master's Degree in Interpreting Pedagogy from Northeastern University. He has served as an adjunct instructor for Wright State University, Gallaudet University Department of Interpretation and as a freelance seminar presenter.
In addition to his Masters in Education: Interpreting Pedagogy degree, Marc has also obtained a Master Mentor Certificate from Northeastern University's Project for Teaching Interpreting Educators and Mentors. Having been mentored into the profession himself, Marc found it only fitting that he continue the tradition and undertake formal training in the skills necessary to aid fellow interpreters in improving their skills through formal and informal mentoring relationships.
