BIO:

Marcela has been driving strategy and operations for start-ups for more than 15 years. She has managed operations in entrepreneurial environments where cash efficiency and employee retention is crucial to a start-up’s success. Her career started in product development, which provides a critical secondary area of expertise for early-stage companies.

Marcela's career started in fintech where she managed global product teams focused on financial data distribution to media companies such as The Wall Street Journal and financial institutions like Fidelity Investments and Merrill Lynch.

In her final role at Thomson Reuters, her team led pre-acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition integrations for the Reuters group of companies.

That experience led to start-ups, and she started working with venture-backed martech companies. Over the years, she has built and invested in SaaS platforms in affiliate marketing, audience development, and image-recognition technologies.

Marcela immigrated from Colombia and continues to be very involved with her native country. Marcela founded the Promising Growth project to support childhood education. serving rural schools near her hometown of Medellin.

As a board member on The Tutu Project, she has focused on community development and partner development strategy since 2013.
