Born in Seattle, I grew up on an island in Puget Sound only reachable by ferryboat. This taught me that no matter how slow or arduous the journey, you eventually reach your destination. I've written newspaper and magazine articles, and reams of online content, but didn't author a book - the third edition of 'Newcomer's Handbook for Moving to and Living in Seattle' - until my 40th birthday was well behind me.

I work by day as a Senior Accountant. Unable to favor just one side of my brain, I spend my nights freelance writing, and making jewelry and textiles for my Bauble & Verve Etsy shop.

Previously I combined my writing skills and business background to create employee handbooks, human resources policy manuals, and accounting procedures manuals for small businesses. I studied communications, accounting, and history in college.

Formerly, I wrote extensively about parenting and life as a single mother. The kids grew up. It's a linear existence and I'm on to new adventures.
