Since 2018, Marilyn Yang has been an investment professional at Castle Harlan, a middle-market private equity firm based in New York City. In 2021, she also joined the investment team of Branford Castle, a lower-middle-market private equity firm affiliated with Castle Harlan. As a member of the investment team, she is responsible for all aspects of new deal activity, from sourcing to due diligence and negotiation, and existing portfolio company management, including regular communication with portfolio company CEOs and CFOs as well as involvement on the Board of Directors. Her involvement with portfolio companies also includes helping CFOs and accounting teams implement proper financial reporting packages as well as aiding finance teams with financial planning and analysis projects. Marilyn is also responsible for interfacing with the firm’s investors, lenders, and third-party advisors.

Prior to Branford Castle / Castle Harlan, Marilyn has held roles at Barclays Investment Bank in New York City in the Global Industrials Group, Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Bank in New York City on the Commodity Trading - US Listed Agency Energy desk, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission headquarters in Washington, D.C. in the Office of Public Affairs, and DREEMS (formerly Dreams on Air) as PR and Marketing Coordinator.

Marilyn is an active member of the University of Pennsylvania – Wharton School’s Alumni Interview Program and serves as a consultant for Wall Street Prep, a global financial training firm that offers occupational training for investment banking and other finance roles. She is also an angel investor with The HELM, a NYC-based venture capital group that focuses on female-founded and female-oriented startups. Marilyn obtained a Bachelors of Science in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania – Wharton School in December 2016, with concentrations in Finance, Marketing, and Strategic Management. She was born and raised in Fairfax, Virginia.
