Mark Pitman

Port Talbot, Wales

I am a freelance football writer and the Welsh football correspondent for UEFA.com with a well-established football background within the press and media. The majority of my work is web-based, although I also provide content for a number of printed publications, including official club match programmes of professional and semi-professional clubs, as well as various magazines and books.

As the Welsh football correspondent and Venue Data-Coordinator for UEFA.com, I cover UEFA fixtures, competitions and finals as both a reporter and correspondent, providing a full range of media content at various fixtures and events. Between 2000 and 2011 I was the press and media officer at semi-professional Welsh Premier League club Port Talbot Town. I established the position and became responsible for all aspects of the clubs media activity, including the clubs participation in the UEFA Europa League in 2010.

In August 2013, I was elected as the Welsh representative onto the jury to vote on the coveted UEFA ‘Best Player in Europe’ award in Monaco. Later that year, I attended a two-day media event at then-European champions Bayern Munich FC, where I was granted access to a private press conference with midfielder Franck Ribéry, CEO Karl-Heinze Rummenigge and manager Pep Guardiola. In August 2014, I was appointed as the UEFA Venue Data-Coordinator for the UEFA Super Cup between Real Madrid and Sevilla at the Cardiff City Stadium.

As an accredited journalist of the Welsh Premier League, I have produced a number of stories on different players and managers that feature in the domestic top-flight, and have covered a number of UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League fixtures in both an editorial capacity and as the Venue Data-Coordinator.

I would welcome any enquiry about working with new people on any type of football project. I specialise in, but I am not restricted to, Welsh football, and have an extensive network of contacts at both domestic and international level.
