Matthew Aronson

Consultant, Teacher, and Facilitator in Cambridge, Massachusetts

After years working with youth and community organizations as a coach, mentor, teacher, program director, leadership specialist, and organization founder, I have come to appreciate that given access to the right environmental supports, resources and structures, youth of every shape and color are capable of amazing things. Whether in Uphams Corner Dorchester, the Trinidad neighborhood of D.C., or the village of Chernechyna in Ukraine, youth have the power to transform their lives and the lives of their communities. Lowering the formidable barriers to a secure community experience that reinforces positive youth behaviors and provides opportunities to engage in self enriching community activities can engender civic pride, build necessary life skills, support the basic needs of community members and lead to a healthier and more successful youth population. Disadvantaged youth already have the potential. It is our job to make sure that they have the space in which to let it shine.
