Growing up on a Maine farm, Mary Gregor always felt close to the outdoors and nature. Mary Gregor attended The University of Maine and studied Plant and Soil Sciences before becoming self-employed in real estate investment. Mary Gregor works with land surveyors, attorneys and conservation groups in order to achieve the goals of the trust. Responsible for all aspects of trust business, Mary Gregor buys and sells acreage and advertises on behalf of Meadows and Mountains Trust. Mary Gregor has contributed to the assets for the trust since she began overseeing it in 1993. Ensuring the conservation of natural environments in Maine, Mary Gregor plans easement gifts to organizations that preserve habitats. Protecting several hundred acres from property development, Mary Gregor presented a portion of the trust to The Forest Society of Maine. The Forest Society of Maine awarded Mary Gregor with a plaque of appreciation for her work with protection easements of a wild river and land surrounding one of Maine’s lakes. Mary Gregor also collaborated with the Maine Coast Heritage Trust, selling 500 acres of coastal land generously lower than market value to safeguard it from commercial or residential expansion. Mary Gregor spends time outdoors as an amateur wildlife photographer. Mary Gregor enjoys walking and exploring the nature trails Maine has to offer. Mary Gregor canoes and fishes and spends time with her two children and two grandchildren for leisure. Apart from her conservation efforts, Mary Gregor contributes to local children’s theater, the Houlton Hospital Foundation, Maine’s food pantry and the local animal shelter
