Massimo D'Alessandro

Filmmaker, screenwriter & director

Massimo D'Alessandro began his career in theater and music in the 80's, mainly dealing with theatrical direction. In 1990 is Founding Partner and Communication Manager of non-profit organization A.S.S.O., an established organization in the field of archaeological research and cave diving. In 1993, designs and builds the website ASSONET, world's first web portal for underwater archeology and underwater caving. In 2002 he founded together with the camera-operator Marco Campolungo and the writer and painter Nicoletta Retico the Studio Blu Production, a production company specializing in coverage of extreme adventure into which the lessons learned in the course of a decade carried out with the organization A.S.S.O., which specializes in research and exploration caving, archaeological and underwater. So far he has made as a writer and director many productions including documentaries distributed by Minerva Pictures on the international market and screened at numerous festivals worldwide.

With the recent documentary "Santa Severa, from legend to history" won the Audience Award at the IV International Festival of Archaeological Film "Capitello D'Oro" of Rome.   In 2009 he founded together with Retico Nicoletta, his co-author on numerous video productions, the CARAVAGGIO400 Cultural Project, dedicated to the genius and work of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio on the occasion of the fourth centenary of his death (1610-2010).
