He currently serves as Chief Program Officer with Calling All Crows, an organization dedicated to partnering with musicians and fans to create change through hands-on service and activism. Founded in 2008 by musician Chad Stokes (Dispatch, State Radio) and tour manager Sybil Gallagher, Calling All Crows has raised nearly $300,000 in support of organizations doing important work on the ground around the world and invested more 20,000 hours of service in local communities across North America and Europe. Matt's passion for public service began as as a urban day camp counselor in New Haven with Lutheran Outdoor Ministries of New England and as a student government leader at Bishop Guertin High School and then Plymouth State University. During his two terms of AmeriCorps service with City Year New Hampshire, he led a team piloting a new service model at Somersworth Middle School and helped spearhead Concert Corps, an initiative bridging the worlds of music and service. Matt remains involved as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters Association.

Immediately following City Year, Matt joined the founding team of ServeNext and led their 2008 Presidential Primary campaign in the Granite State, helping to build grassroots support for what would eventually become the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act. Matt is the recipient of Thrivent's National Volunteer Excellence Award (2008), the Spirit of New Hampshire Award for National Service (2007), and a Bill & Hillary Clinton National Service Innovation Award (2006).
