Matt graduated from Loras College in 2008 with degrees in Creative Writing and Literature, and also obtained a Masters in Creative Writing from Ball State University in 2010. He is currently ABD at Ball State University, teaching ENG 103, ENG 104, ENG 114, and ENG 213. His research interests are focused on Writing Center Histories and Historical Memory.
