Matt Malone
Grew up in Texas. Started my career on the sell-side of Wall; have lived in NYC, Chicago, Boulder, SF, and Del Mar. Moved to the buy-side as a PM for a US equity long/short hedge fund and then was a co-founder of another; both were based in Del Mar. Since '07, my blood, sweat, and tears have been on the private equity and venture side of the street. Companies ranging from a multi-core semiconductor company, a nanomaterial company, a nanophotonic startup, a skin care/make-up company, a search & discovery platform for digital content, a rich media messaging platform built for mobile that was usurped by Twitter, a video ad mediation platform for mobile & connected TVs, another skin care company, and even a shoe company along the way. Currently dabbling in some old school energy businesses - stream agnostic. Huge Texas Longhorn fan, avid golfer, wine drinker (not taster), novice chef, and somewhat of a cigar aficionado. Named my firm after my favorite hole in the wall bar in ATX, the Dry Creek Cafe & Boat Dock.
