Matt Vasilogambros is a staff correspondent for National Journal, covering foreign affairs, the White House and Congress. He previously covered the 2012 presidential election and other national races for the National Journal and The Hotline. Before joining the magazine, Matt wrote for Politics Daily, the Iowa Independent and the Huffington Post, covering politics and higher education. Matt is a graduate of Drake University, where he served as an award-winning editor of the student newspaper. He is a native of Arlington Heights, Ill., and currently lives in Washington, D.C.
