Maurice Haak
Photographer, online marketer, and philosopher in Den Haag, Nederland
I have a background in art history and philosophy, with a focus on the great German thinkers Heidegger, Nietzsche and Benjamin. Combined with a fascination for modern art, this led to my MA thesis "Interaktivität und Reproduzierbarkeit in der frühen Videokunst" (pdf, abstract in English).
A self-taught photographer, my main interests are portraiture as well as theatre and concert photography. But I also love to shoot architecture and landscapes. I've done photo shoots for various venues and occasions, e.g. festival Dag in de Branding, Holland Dance Festival, CaDance Festival, Nationale Toneel, Koninklijke Schouwburg, Residentie Orkest, Nederlandse Reisopera, Gemeentemuseum Den Haag and LessonUp. From 2005 till 2017 I worked as online marketer at Den Haag Marketing, a destination marketing organization. I was responsible for the online communication and sales of denhaag.com and haagsuitburo.nl. I organized online marketing campaigns and developed the company’s digital strategy. I have broad experience in BtoC copywriting, email marketing, content marketing, SEO, social media and community management.
In 2013, I founded my own company Text und Bild. Text und Bild specializes in online marketing advice and photography.
As of March 2018, I am working as chief marketing officer at Q42, a strategic technology agency based in The Hague and Amsterdam.
I love to visit concerts, plays, dance performances and exhibitions. My fave way to spend an evening - other than reading a good book. When I need to free my mind, I take my bike into the dunes.
I'm single and live in The Hague.
