A leader in the specialty retail industry, executive and entrepreneur Max F. James currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of American Kiosk Management, LLC and North American Kiosk, LLC. As the owner, James has stewarded both firms to considerable success. Prior to undertaking these ventures, he held a series of high-level executive positions with other companies in different industries, including Chairman of the Board of the Salt Lake International Center and President of Miller Properties, both real estate development firms, as well as Executive Vice-President of Days Inns of America.

In the latter position, James held responsibility for the operation of 18 hotels in the American West, and he served on the Governor’s California Tourism Board of Directors. After his stint in the hospitality industry, Max James managed seven Northern Californian California RE/MAX territories before transitioning into the specialty retail industry. As committed to charitable giving as he is to business ventures, Max F. James has profoundly impacted dozens of nonprofit organizations. Founder of the Camp Soaring Eagle Foundation, a camp for children with chronic and life-threatening diseases who live in the Southwest, James also serves as the organization’s Chairman.

In this capacity, Max James organizes and participates in many fundraising ventures, and he has personally donated in excess of $12 million to the Foundation. A member of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s CEO Professional Advisory Board, James also contributed $100,000 toward the foundation of a new scholarship fund for the Specialty Retail Entrepreneur Expo & Conference (SPREE) in order to encourage new talent in the specialty retail industry. Prior to earning his Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and setting out into the world of entrepreneurship and philanthropy, Max F. James made substantial sacrifices for his country as a combat rescue pilot with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

A highly decorated pilot, James flew more than 200 missions, was shot down twice, and received numerous medals and decorations, including three Distinguished Flying Crosses, eight Air Medals, and the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, to name only a few.
