Maya Shwayder is an anchor, correspondent, VJ, writer and mutli-media journalist. She is currently based in New England, where she is the host and producer of "And Another Thing," a daily mutlimedia show on New England Public Media. She previously worked in seven countries for Deutsche Welle/DW News, Germany's international broadcaster.

Her coverage has ranged from reporting on the conflict around the US embassy move from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem to the Berlin international film festival. She also served as a special correspondent in DW News's DC Bureau between 2017 and 2019.

Before DW, Maya was the UN and New York correspondent for the Jerusalem Post, as well as an events and red carpet reporter for Variety. Her work has also appeared in The Atlantic, Gawker, XOJane, The Forward, and The Detroit News among others. She's also been featured on the BBC world service and Huffington Post Live as a commentator.

Maya received her master's of science in journalism from Columbia, where she trained under Sandy Padwe, Amy Nutt, Helen Benedict, Judith Matloff, and David Blum.

She completed her bachelors at Harvard in psychology and Italian language and literature. She won a national award from the Society of Professional Journalists in college for editorial writing.

Maya holds dual US-German citizenship and speaks English, Italian and German.
