Micah DeBenedetto

MD Photography was created in Corpus Christi, Texas by Micah DeBenedetto in the Fall of 2010. Early in life, he realized the impact of storytelling through images. However, he pursued a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry from The University of Texas at Austin, an unconventional path towards photography as a profession, as if there was a truly conventional one!
Thanks to his parents, his eclectic perspective was finally able to be captured after he received his first 35mm film camera, Canon Rebel EOS 2000. While a student attending Del Mar College, he studied the fine art of photographing and developing black and white film, spending countless hours in the development lab. Then came the introduction of the digital photography age, his life perspective again transformed while serving as a photojournalist for The Daily Texan in 2005. Upon successful completion of a competitive application process, he had the opportunity to hone his predominantly photojournalistic style while covering a wide range of assignments from covering the rotunda of the Texas State Capitol to a Middle-Eastern Festival on the South Mall of The University of Texas.
Upon graduation, which also coincided with his first digital camera the Canon EOS 20D, he embarked upon his first tour of Europe; while there, his love for travel and food photography was born. New York City, Pittsburgh, Jamaica, Colorado, you-name-it-Texas, and various countries across Europe represent the breadth of his travels. He currently focuses on special event photography including weddings, quinceaneras, live arts, and commercial photography.
MD Photography is currently incorporating the world of videography with the inception of highly versatile and functional digital High Definition - SLR (single-lens reflex) cameras.
MD Photography is a proud member of PPA (Professional Photographers of America) as well as TPPA (Texas Professional Photographers Association) since 2010.
