I love finding patterns, looking to nature as the master of design. When I find them I paint them or write about them, and, joyfully, draw them for my living in medical illustration and science illustration.

For those who are curious, I drew this pathological illustration many years ago, of an atherosclerotic plaque in a coronary vessel. It is my most asked-about illustration, over time.
