Ever since I saw my first play, I was in love with the theatre. Though I began theatre with acting, it soon became clear to me that instead my interests were really focused in the fabric of the play- the costumes. I quickly transitioned into my costume studies at UNC Chapel Hill. With an early passion for history and a determination to freelance for theatres, it seemed only natural to pursue a double major of Dramatic Art and European History with a minor in Entrepreneurship.

In two short years, I have worked on numerous productions as a Costume Designer, Costume Design Assistant, Costume Crafts Intern, Costume Intern and Wardrobe Crew with UNC’s Lab Theatre, Playmakers Repertory Company, Houston Ballet, GroundUp Productions, and Houston Shakespeare Festival. Last year I studied abroad as part of UNC’s Honors Semester in London and completed a millinery internship with Gina Foster.

Theatrically, I have worked on a broad range of shows set in many different time periods, designing several shows including "Julius Caesar", "Almost, Maine" and "Jon". From the fantastical to the firmly set 1900’s, each show has posed new challenges and shown me unique ways to approach the design and construction of garments. I have been exposed to costume crafts, construction and design both in the classroom and outside of it.

I also work part-time as a Costume Archivist at UNC’s Co-Star Vintage Costume Collection, share my school enthusiasm as a Student Admissions Ambassador, aid in the transition of First Year students as a Carolina Kickoff Staff Member and serve as the Costume Supervisor for the Kenan Theatre Company. Whether holding a beautiful Victorian bodice, giving tours of my school, or simply set up at a sewing machine finishing the final stitches on a tutu, I am thrilled to have received so many wonderful opportunities.

I am excited about continuing my education and look forward to the challenges of future productions, gaining additional experience, and working with the best artisans and mentors in the business. It has been a truly amazing journey so far and I look forward to continuing my work in the entertainment industry.
